The meeting was organized to discuss the current problems of business entities operating in the jewelry sector, new regulatory approaches, as well as the main principles of the intended implementation of the “Standard Control System”.

A meeting was held with a delegation of the Azerbaijan Jewelers Association at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Supervision under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Representatives of business entities representing various large jewelry facilities and production areas of the country also participated in the meeting.

Advisor to the Chairman of the Agency Ilgar Hasanov and Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Jewelers Association Togrul Abbasguliyev made speeches at the meeting. During the speeches, a wide exchange of views was held on the development of quality infrastructure in the country, in particular, the formation of a standard control system. Detailed information was provided on the work done by the Agency to date in connection with the organization of standard control, as well as measures taken to build a material and technical base. It was noted that the creation of standard laboratories that meet modern requirements, equipping them with equipment in accordance with international standards, as well as strengthening the potential of qualified personnel are priorities.

During the discussions, the legal framework of the standardization mechanism and the issues of standardization and marking of products made of precious metals were discussed. It was noted that the steps taken in this direction will serve to create a favorable environment for market participants in the jewelry sector, protect consumer rights, and create a healthy competitive environment.
