A meeting was held with a delegation of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Businessmen and Industrialists Public Union (TÜIB) at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, Advisor to the Chairman of the Agency Ilgar Hasanov provided detailed information on the organization's activities in the field of quality infrastructure, work done, results achieved and goals set. At the same time, the "State Program for 2023-2025 on Adapting the National Standardization System to International Requirements" and the work done within its implementation, adopted regulatory legal acts, prepared projects and reports, results of implemented measures and their economic impacts were brought to attention.
Mutual discussions were also held on the development of quality infrastructure in the country, in particular the impact of the adoption and application of national technical regulations on the consumer market, as well as entrepreneurial activity. It was noted that the draft national technical regulations prepared by the relevant state bodies in order to provide the consumer market with high-quality and safe non-food products were put up for public hearing and discussion on the Agency's official website
During the meeting, information was provided on the new laboratories established at the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI) under the Agency and the services provided. In addition, the work done to bring the national accreditation system into line with international requirements was discussed, and it was noted that the Azerbaijan Accreditation Center (AzAK) under the Agency was accepted as a full member of the Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)
Finally, proposals were heard for the development of the quality infrastructure sector, and an agreement was reached between the parties to expand awareness-raising activities within the framework of mutual cooperation.
